As I promised we are going to talk about shopping in Crete, Greece.

I’m going to show you some products that I very recommend for you to purchase if you are visiting this beautiful country.

So, first of all don’t expect to shop in Agia Pelagia, because this is a quiet village that does not has many shopping centers. In the other hand do expect to shop in Heraklion center city.

Heraklion is a beautiful city with a lot of markets. shopping centers etc.

There is a lot of famous brands like : Diesel, Zara, Benetton, Sephora etc.

but I personally didn’t want to shop for label that I can get back home, so i shopped for unique stuff that are related to Crete.

The prices are very good in general but you should ask for a discount anyway, each time I bought something, 2 minutes late I found a shop that sells the same exact thing at a lower price, so do you research also.

I’ll show you some pictures of the beautiful shop:

The shopping centers are great!

The first product you have to buy is: The Olive OIl.

And i marked it with the big letters because, it is The Olive OIl. Consider it like this, if you haven’t purchased a bottle (or a can) for yourself and your family and friends, then you haven’t been in Crete for real!

When you’ll visit Crete you will get very confused on which brand of oil to buy or what level of acidity you should purchase, so you can buy the one that I got ( see the picture below) the brands differ by taste, and you can ask to taste the oil before purchasing, but they are all equal in quality . About the acidity, I do recommend the 0.2 acidity level, because it is the lowest level and considered as the highest quality of olive oil.

You also haven’t been in Crete if you didn’t drink and purchased their most famous alcohol: Raki

This drink is quite strong and does not suit everyone, and in my opinion equivalent the the russian moonshine, that’s why the bottle that you see in the picture I bought for my father as a gift. But the Cretans mix this Raki with honey and cinnamon, and sometimes make strawberry Raki, and I did taste this sweet kinds which were really nice and smooth. By the way, that’s the best remedy for cold and sore throat.

I also purchased some Greek cheese

I don’t really like goat products, but my family really enjoyed these kinds of cheese.

I also recommend for you to purchase some spices, i personally got the Souvlaki seasoning Mix and the Himalaya pink salt with 5 kinds of black pepper:

Each product didn’t cost a lot of money, these are very cheap and classy staff that I recommend you to buy when you visit Crete, these are very affordable and they are between 2-5 euros – around 3-7 USD.

As a herb tea lover I couldn’t resist to buy some of the dried herbs in the markets so I bought some Sage and Mountain Tea, they are very healthy and has many health benefits for the digestive system and has a very calming and soothing effect:
